- Sakura City - Part I

After 4 months away from New Year when I did promise I'll focus on blogging, It's finally time to present my japan travel diary as first post of 2015. I have been trying my ass off to give sometime for blogging out of my work schedule, gym routine, social life, reading time and researching for my secret mission. Have you guys ever felt that you've been inspired so hard by every little things happening in your life and feeling you can do everything but your voice is lost somehow and somewhere along the way that your ability to do things got disrupted? Well Hi 5 if anyone is gonna raise their hands and that's when writing comes into my life to keep myself still on the right track.

October 27, 2014 10:28 pm

It's kinda difficult to recall every details of the trip since it's almost 5 months away but some memories are vividly clearly captured in my eyes. Let's rewind some time back to a date on October, it was night of Oct 27, We took off to Tokyo Narita International airport with ANA airline. Call me a noob but it was honestly my first time experiencing long hour flight which was exactly almost 8 hours with such a fully equipped airline . I didn't really felt like it was long because I was having time of my life listening to recent Taylor Swift 1989 album and reading "the fault in our stars" with unlimited supply of Asahi beer over the clouds. I myself am a quite an entertaining person so 8 hours passed in a blink of an eye.

October 28, 2014 - Day 1

After morning 4am breakfast, the announcement comes in that plane was gonna land soon. Time checked: 7am! safely landed and fall morning cooling breeze of Tokyo was welcoming us. I was already in love with Tokyo along the way. Another 2 hours comfortable car ride to "Imperial Hotel" where we were going to stay for next 10 days. Even in my super sleepy half awake eyes at that moment, I knew this place is superb. A little tour around the hotel area while waiting for check in time was supposed to be super duper chilling if only I wasn't wearing heel. And sometime after 2 hours of walking around, I learned that this area is called Ginza, most luxurious part of  Japan where all the great grand branded shops and crazy expensive department stores are located and for the record, I witnessed Dior Launching event for the first time and it was just like in TV.

A little tour around my room where I'm missing so much right now! I stayed there alone for 10 days, of cause I felt so attached to it: Morning breakfast alone at the side of the window along with hot coffee, solo fashion show (trying out everything I bought), night long hot bubble shower, stalking bloggers hours with super fast wifi till midnight. Like any other luxury hotel, their room service and hospitality is effortlessly superb.

That evening, finally, I felt fully charged after long nap and energized for a little exploring night life of Tokyo at Shibuya. I bet everyone would recognize this junction from most of the movies where a lot of people appear crossing the road out of no where when the light goes green and disappear again when it's red like it's not even possible.

October 29,2014 - Day 2

The soft sun arrays woke me up way too early that morning, no wonder Japan is a country which get to see the sun first, 6am and the sun is already shining bright. I couldn't endure cold crisp air at first and had love-hate relationship with it for a while. Breakfast at Muji was simply authentic and lovely. I love the whole concept of how they mix 2 opposite idea of tradition and modern.

I must have a lot of fate with Harajuku street since I spent most of my money there. For all the fashion junkies out there, this is a must place to go when you were in Tokyo. That's another thing I love about Japan, you can learn at least one thing from everyone you met on the street. They were all dressed up and layered for fall in every matching possible fashionable way. Their smiles and accents are way too polite that for a second, I wished I study here instead of Singapore.

I met my friend from hometown here at I called it "the greenest Starbucks I have ever been to". This sweet girl made my short stay more meaningful by giving a tour around the city and she knows me too well that brought me to perfect places of my taste and even captured my ootd pictures patiently.

Well.. I fall in love with ideas, words, places, nature every now and then and may be that is the reason I have so much reasons to live with no negative thoughts dawning me down for long. Likewise, I learnt everything I can while I was there: people, ideas, fashion, foods.  More to come on my next episodes of Sakura City. Hint: I'll take you to a Disney tour.

With so much loves,

ASTRAEA
